In March 2011, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust extended its contract for CSC’s PatientCentre patient administration system for three years with the option of a further two years.

The trust has used PatientCentre for over seven years across its five hospitals, including Leeds General Infirmary and St James’s University Hospital, which rank among the leading teaching hospitals in Europe.

Leeds was also one of the first NHS trusts to adopt a new solution to connect its pathology systems so requests and test results are exchanged electronically, which prevents errors and delays and saves money. Processing over 3 million sample requests a year, the pathology department at Leeds is one of the UK’s largest and provides services to other NHS trusts under national and regional agreements.
