Consumer Health, Media & Life Sciences

Our Consumer and Media division is working to leverage the latest advances in information and communications infrastructure to provide health professionals with tools that deliver personalised care in a community setting.

The delivery of healthcare is being radically altered through a combination of technological advances, demographic changes and economic pressures. Individuals are increasingly being treated outside of acute care focused institutions and societal programs are focusing more and more on preventative measures.

The shift towards a wellness, rather than a sickness, focus has created a need for healthcare experiences that are tailored and personalised to the individual. Advances in wireless communication, increased levels of adoption for new technologies, tele-monitoring devices and mobile phones are enabling a shift in emphasis away from expensive hospital-based interventions to the more cost-effective community environment.

This new model of care delivery and management is reliant on tools that let healthcare professionals collaborate easily and provide them with a complete picture of the patient’s status. Providers require the ability to connect with patients remotely and to empower the patient to manage their own care from their home.

Our Consumer and Media division is working on solutions that leverage the latest communication platforms to deliver diversified, yet personalised, healthcare. Our collaborative partnerships with companies such as Swiss-based Medic4all allow us to deliver end-to-end tele-health solutions that cater to the burgeoning demand for preventative healthcare and wellness management. These new solutions include a range of platforms and devices that allow healthcare providers to remotely monitor, manage and diagnose their patients.

With telehealth one of the fastest growing areas of innovation in healthcare, our focus on the patient and investments in new technology R&D has us well placed to continue delivering solutions that support healthcare professionals and help them improve their performance.

We won a place on The Assistive Technologies framework agreement, awarded by Buying Solutions which is the national procurement partner for all UK public services, enabling customers to improve value for money and efficiency.

The telecare framework agreement is for four years and covers the purchase, installation, maintenance, monitoring and coaching of telecare and telehealth solutions.
