Mobile Applications
At iSOFT we are exploring the potential of mobile devices to assist in the delivery of care across clinics, acute, primary and community care and in the patient’s home by extending our solutions to encompass mobile inputs.
As the focus of healthcare moves beyond the acute care setting to primary and community care environments and a consumer focus on wellness and life enhancement there is a need to develop solutions that free patients to continue ongoing treatments and monitoring whilst living their normal lives.
The ubiquity of internet enabled touchscreen devices like the iPhone, iPad and Microsoft Surface POCs makes them a realistic addition to the contiuum of care given software solutions that are able to integrate them with existing workflows.
From clinical tools such as applications that monitor vital signs, assist with medication management and function as observation charts through to patient portals that aggregate and present clinical documents along with contextually relevant education and lifestyle information and advertising, our teams are exploring ways in which mobile applications can improve clinical efficiency as well as the immediacy and quality of patient care.
Mobile devices allow anywhere/anytime access to patient information that can be extended beyond the carer to the patient themselves allowing for the updating of medical data and management tools with functions like cardiovascular calculators, rehab diaries and more. In tandem with electronic health records this emerging field represents an exciting opportunity for healthcare providers.
